Skyrim has had quite a few expansions over the years for players to enjoy, particularly those who play on PC.

There’s the official Dawnguard and Dragonborn expansions released by Bethesda, plus the fan-made expansion-sized mods like Beyond Skyrim and Falskaar.

If you’re an Elder Scrolls fan, there’s almost no end to the amount of content you can get.

It’s proof that Skyrim truly is the game of forever, which is probably why we’re still waiting for The Elder Scrolls VI.

Skyrim just endlessly proves that it's the game that keeps on giving.

Now, a new fan-made expansion uploaded to Nexus Mods will give players another big slice of content to sink their teeth into.

Skyrim: Rise of the Necromancers is an expansion featuring a new story and many more features.

The official mod description reads: “Dark forces stir across Skyrim as necromancers rise to power, spreading death and corruption throughout the land. No longer content with hiding in caves and ruins, these powerful sorcerers now march openly, raising vast armies of the dead to do their bidding.”

As the title and description state, the Rise of the Necromancers mod features new necromancy enemies populating the world. You can now find necromancer enemies filtered in with bandit encounters, making combat a lot more dangerous.

Additionally, you can now find Necromancer outposts across the land. Enemies from these outposts will frequently attack villages, so you’ll need to keep them well defended.

Obviously, there’s a new faction called the Worm Necromancers. They’re an elite type of necromancer who can summon undead werewolves. New undead minions like skeleton warriors and giant zombies will also appear.

And for players desiring the ultimate challenge, the mod also features powerful enemy necromancers who can raise up to 10 undead at once.

In the end, this might be the perfect mod expansion for any players who are finding the current vanilla Skyrim to be lacking in difficulty, or have already beaten all the other big expansions that modders have created.

You can download Skyrim: Rise of the Necromancers from Nexus Mods. It’s also available on Creation Club for PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
