This Joker open world Unreal Engine 5 trailer has blown us away

This Joker open world Unreal Engine 5 trailer has blown us away

This Joker-inspired Unreal Engine 5 concept trailer brings Joaquin Phoenix to the gaming world.

With the latest Joker movie set to be released in cinemas later this year, one YouTuber has imagined what an open-world game might look like for the infamous villain.

October of this year will see the long-awaited arrival of the Joker sequel, Joker: Folie à Deux, hit cinemas. Starring Joaquin Phoenix as the titular character as well as Lady Gaga taking on the role of Harley Quinn, the movie is expected to be another fresh take on the DC character.

Check out the Joker's arch-nemesis in the Batman Arkham Trilogy trailer below!

With the Joker’s arch-nemesis, Batman, getting quite a few video games dedicated to him, the Joker has always been quite left out as the main character in such projects. However, thanks to YouTuber TeaserPlay, a simple fan-made trailer could change that.

Created using Unreal Engine 5, TeaserPlay posted a one-minute trailer to their channel showing us what an open-world Joker game could look like and spoiler alert, it looks quite impressive.

Using Joaquin Phoenix’s likeness and set in the world of Todd Phillip’s duology, we see Arthur Fleck’s slow descent into the Joker. By including the movie’s infamous subway scene, it is clear that this fan-made game would follow the events of the movie, all with incredible graphics courtesy of Unreal Engine 5.

As well as the subway scene, we also see the Joker flee from the police, do the infamous dance on the steps, address his adoring fans and stumble through the corridors of the asylum.

This is just one of many fan-made trailers created by TeaserPlay who regularly gives fans a taste of games they can only dream of. Just this year, the YouTuber has shared an open-world game based on the Shrek franchise as well as an original God of War remake.

Let us hope some AAA developers have this creator on their radar but for now, we can appreciate all the hard work that has gone into these projects.
