If you happen to be a fan of Hogwarts Legacy and Pokémon, you’re definitely going to want to check our Fantastic Haven - a brand new magical animal collecting sim.

Hogwarts Legacy has its flaws, but it also builds a solid foundation for what I’m sure is a burgeoning gaming franchise. One of the most delightful elements of the game was the collecting of magical beasts, giving them a safe home in the Room of Requirement and allowing you to channel your inner Newt Scamander. If that element appealed to you too, Fantastic Haven could be the perfect cosy game to check out. It’s also giving major Pokémon vibes.

Take a look at Fantastic Haven in action below.

Developed by Piece of Cake Fabulous and published by Goblinz Publishing, Fantastic Haven is a new indie release where you’re tasked with restoring “the equilibrium of magic by saving endangered fantasy creatures. Build your shelter to welcome and protect them, explore unique regions, rally neighbouring populations to your cause and rehabilitate creatures in their natural environment.”

You will take on the role of one of the Elders, “protectors of the continent”. Not only will you be saving magical creatures, but you’ll also be required to use diplomacy to teach “and convince people to live in harmony with them”. It’s all in aid of bringing peace to the game’s various regions, with each regional location offering a varying difficulty.

Unfortunately, Fantastic Haven isn’t out just yet but we don’t have too long to wait as it's anticipated to launch in Q2 2024, which runs from April to June. The game will be available to play on Steam and GOG. Hopefully, we’ll see it expand to further platforms down the line. Fantastic Haven would certainly feel right at home on the Nintendo Switch.
