GTA 4 fans can rejoice, as a new remaster has transformed the game and made it look absolutely gorgeous.
Originally released in 2008, Grand Theft Auto 4 was a massive step up from the previous games in terms of graphics and performance.
I can’t believe I still remember that moment where I loaded up the game on my Xbox 360 and playing through that intro on the Liberty City docks, just completely floored by how much of a visual improvement over San Andreas it was.
Nearly 20 years later, GTA 4 has obviously started to look a bit dated. It’s still an impressive looking game for its time, but more modern Rockstar Games titles like Red Dead Redemption 2 and the upcoming GTA 6 are obviously surpassing it.

With rumours of an official GTA 4 remaster in the works, fans have taken it upon themselves to tweak the game’s visuals and give it the new-gen makeover it deserves.
iCEnhancer 4.0 is a mod created by Hayssam Keilany for GTA 4 which completely overhauls the graphics of the game to bring it more in line with modern standards.
It includes new physics-based lighting to make Liberty City light up like never before, as well as new shaders for better fog and water rendering.
Check out the trailer below, and see for yourself just how much more beautiful the game looks now. You almost can’t believe this was originally a game from 2008.

“That's exactly what GTA 4 looked like to me back in 2008,” one fan wrote in the video replies. Yep, I agree. Games always look much better in our memories.
“Woah, the last one was like a decade ago, this is a total surprise,” wrote another reply. “Tech has improved so much since then.”
“I really love your work and am so glad you guys pulled through the hard times to get this out,” a third comment reads. “It looks amazing and you guys should be proud!”
You can download iCEnhancer 4.0 from Keilany’s official website, where he has posted the latest version to download. You can also access older versions of the mod, just in case there are any compatibility issues.
