If you’re a fan of the cult classic horror, P.T. and have an itch to play a horror inspired by the cancelled Konami game, then this PC freebie may be for you. But be warned, it’s only free for a limited time.
When it comes to being a cult classic horror, nothing fits into that category quite like P.T., cruelly cancelled in 2015 by Konami following a dispute with Hideo Kojima. P.T. was a “Playable Teaser” for Silent Hills starring Norman Reedus, that would have taken us to different realms of the Silent Hill universe, hence the title being plural.
While Silent Hills never saw the light of day, it at least inspired a plethora of fantastic horror games over the years, such as Visage, MADiSON, Layers of Fear and much more. However, P.T. might be dead, but it still lives on in Konami’s new entry in the iconic survival horror series, Silent Hill: Townfall.

However, it’s not just the likes of Silent Hill: Townfall that continues to keep the P.T. nightmare alive, because indie developers are still doing their thing all these years later. One such game is called Nightbell, developed and published by TrueGames.

“Nightbell is a first-person Christmas Eve horror told through the eyes of a boy who stayed home with his mother,” reads the synopsis of the game. “After a bedtime story about a witch with a bell, he wakes up to that same familiar chime, discovers his mother is missing, and comes face to face with a creature eerily similar to her.”
Typically, Nightbell will cost you a modest £3.39 on Steam, but it’s currently discounted to a nice £1.69. That Steam discount is only valid until 9 July 2026.
Yet, for a limited time, you can claim Nightbell for free via Itich.io, ending on 12 July 2026. So, you might want to download it now, just in case it slips your mind.
According to the Steam user review, yes, it has. Taken from 66 reviews, Nightbell is rated “Mostly Positive”
“A short horror game with a few 'puzzle' objectives. A little off-putting that the camera is permanently tilted for like 5° imo. But you get used to it. Otherwise, pretty solid little horror game, especially for a few euros,” wrote SayeN.
“This was a really fun horror game. It has a quick playthrough (I finished in an hour with all achievements), with some good jump scares, and an interesting puzzle. I highly recommend it to horror fans. Hopefully, there will be a chapter two in the future,” suggested BubblyCrusader.
“Decent little horror game. It should take you about 40 minutes to finish. I've played better games in the indie horror genre, but the game is ok,” added VandelayRFC.
So, what are you waiting for? Claim Nightbell for free before it’s too late!
