Fallout 4 is already full of its fair share of horrors but this free download is guaranteed to turn it into the horror game you have always wanted.

Combining Fallout 4 with Lovecraftian-esque horror with inspiration from Dead Space and Resident Evil, this free download will unleash madness across the Commonwealth as you venture into a secret Institute facility.

Created by RascalArt over on Nexus Mods, In the Flesh is a horror mod designed specifically for Fallout 4.

“Delve into the madness. A horror inspired dungeon with custom enemies and scares,” the description reads.

"Venture into a secret Institute facility and face the evil that dwells within.”

Starting just north of Dunwich Borers pit in a grate embedded into the rock, players will get to explore this brand-new dungeon where there will be scares aplenty.

So much so that the creator recommends ways to take full advantage of the creepy location.

Turn off your Pip-Boy light, leave your companions outside, and ramp up the music.

Along the way, you will stumble across custom monsters based on the feral ghoul-like creatures already in the game but, as with many horror games, running away is always an option when you find yourself getting overwhelmed.

These monsters include Zombie Walkers, Feral Ghouls, and Horrorghouls.

Since the mod was first uploaded this time last year, Into the Flesh has already earned itself an impressive 200,000+ downloads so it is definitely worth checking it out if you want to spice up your Fallout 4 gameplay.

One positive review read, “Amazing mod!

Love how you made the horror with the ambience and visuals instead of those stupid things like annoying loud noises and jumpscares that 13-15 years adore.

It also really fits the lore. I’m tired of devs only giving hints and terminals talking about how Vault-Tec is possibly controlled by ancient horrific entities, time to focus on that!”
