This free mod turns Fallout 4 into a terrifying Alien: Isolation-inspired horror experience that will have you shaking in your boots.
While Bethesda’s post-apocalyptic Fallout series has some elements of horror, such as the fantastic expansion ‘Point Lookout’ for Fallout 4, it’s not really known for turning you into a nervous wreck, looking for the nearest sofa to hide behind. So, when a promising free expansion comes along that offers to scare us witless, it’s worth checking out.
The Alien: Isolation-inspired mod in question is called ‘Breach: A Horror Quest Mod’, created by RascalArt, and it’s available to download for free right now via Nexusmods.
Anyone familiar with 2014’s Alien: Isolation will know that it’s one of the scariest video games of all time. Isolated in the giant Sevastopol space station, relentlessly stalked by an oversized Xenomorph alien.

So, with elements of Alien: Isolation being brought into the world of Fallout 4, it is a very intriguing concept and judging by the gameplay video linked on the dedicated mod page, as well as the screenshots provided, it looks like it’s a match made in LV-426.

“Off the coast of the Commonwealth, beneath the irradiated waters where the light fades from blue to inky black, lies ATLAS Laboratories. Silent but not yet dead,” reads the synopsis of the mod.
“Heavily inspired by the Aliens franchise, BREACH is a narrative dungeon mod which sees the player explore a sunken research facility, uncover its secrets and discover the fate of the unfortunate expedition that came before them.”
At the time of writing, it’s only available on PC. However, the mod page states, “This mod will be uploaded to Xbox once the nice PC players point out all the bugs.” Of course, there is no mention of PlayStation, and for good reason.
While the PlayStation versions of Fallout 4 do have mod support, it’s nowhere near the extent of Xbox, due to Sony’s restrictive mod policies. So it’s probably safe to assume that ‘Breach: A Horror Quest Mod’ is very unlikely to be released on PlayStation consoles, unfortunately.
As for Xbox, seeing as ‘Breach: A Horror Quest Mod’ is a new mod, you might have to wait patiently for its arrival on Microsoft’s console. After all, the PC version has to be improved before the modder is willing to make it available on other platforms, which is understandable.
Fallout 4 is out now on PC, PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch 2. It’s also available with Xbox Game Pass and select tiers of PlayStation Plus, at no extra cost.
