PC gamers can claim 97% rated RPG in free game offer that’ll save you $30
The Epic Games Store has officially updated its weekly free game line-up.
Every Thursday, new titles become available for PC users to claim and keep forever.
As always, you have a seven day window to claim said games with this week’s offerings departing on September 24 at 4pm BST.
The two games included this week may not be titles you’re instantly familiar with, but with ratings well over 90%, they’re definitely worth checking out.
Shogun Showdown is a must-play strategy RPG that players can’t stop raving about

The headliner of this week’s free offering is most definitely developer Roboatino’s excellent Shogun Showdown.
It typically retails for $15 and first landed back in 2024.
This is a strategy RPG with roguelike and deck-building elements as you work your way up to taking on and facing, you guessed it, a shogun.
Featuring gorgeous pixel-art graphics, players will combine and upgrade attack tiles, acquiring new skills and building mastery throughout each run.
There are additional characters to unlock too, and the soundtrack will completely immerse you within Shogun Showdown’s Japanese setting.
On Steam, the game boasts an incredible approval rating of 97% with players praising the “replay value” and “easy to pick up, challenging to master” gameplay.
“Highly recommend. Lots of replayability and the only game that I wanted to finish multiple times,” one player wrote.
It should take you around 10 hours to complete the game’s main objectives, but you could be looking at six times that for full completion.

Mindcop is a whodunnit that’ll keep you guessing until the very end
If strategy RPGs aren’t for you, you may enjoy Mindcop from developer Andre Gareis which also arrived in 2024.
This is a non-linear whodunnit detective game that combines story-driven gameplay with real-time puzzles.
You’re no ordinary detective within Mindcop. You can delve into people’s minds to uncover the truth.
The game is set within the hamlet of Marrylin Crater Camp where a murderer is on the loose. You have five days to catch them, and it’s up to you how you go about doing that.
There are 13 suspects in total, so you have quite a number of interviews to conduct.
If you do delve into someone’s mind, this is where the puzzling element comes into play; you’ll need to clear a colour-coded grid, essentially, to access the interviewees' thoughts.
Similarly to The Blood of Dawnwalker, every action within Mindcop comes at a time cost with that five day deadline getting shorter and shorter.
This game also usually retails for $15, with a 94% approval rating on Steam signalling its high quality.
“Short but sweet,” one player said.
Another added, “A very stylish detective game with a twist.”
It should only take you four to seven hours to work your way through this one.
It’s another decent line-up from Epic Games, even if it may not feature any AAA headliners. Remember to grab and claim these two games before it's too late.
