Cyberpunk 2077 Romance Obstacle is 'Fixed', Edgerunners Update Fan Patched

As with every RPG with romance options, players can go feral and Cyberpunk 2077 was certainly no exception to this rule.

Allowing players to romance four main characters, CD Projekt RED understood that in between fighting corrupt organisations and terrorist gangs, you should always find time for love.

However, with all of Cyberpunk 2077’s romance options being locked behind sexualities and gender identities, you can imagine that not all players were happy with this decision.

Throughout Cyberpunk 2077, the main romance options are Judy Alvarez, Panam Palmer, River Ward, and Kerry Eurodyne. However, whether or not you can romance them is based on your V’s gender and voice type.

Judy and River can only be romanced by a “female” V whilst Panam and Kerry can only be romanced by a “male” V. In the world of Cyberpunk 2077 customisation, “male” and “female” is determined by voice type more so than choice of genitals.

As a result, certain romances are locked and can only be pursued if you start a new playthrough with a different voice type.

However, this brand-new mod aims to change this by adding the choice to romance multiple partners regardless of gender or sexuality.

Multi Romance by cyb3rp0nk is new to Nexus Mods and aims to remove gender and body-type so that all four romance options can be pursued.

Multiple Romances Can Even Be Explored

“This is a mod in a series of fixes I want to add in the Cyberpunk 2077 1.61 Version "Edgerunners Update",” the modder explains.

“I liked that version much better than the later versions and changes of the crafting/gear/perk functions of the game.

So this is a mod for you people who want to have the Multi Romance option with all partners with no gender blocks.”

After being frustrated with the romance blocks in the game, the modder explains how this mod will allow players to “choose freely” or even have multiple partners if they wish.

I am not one for erasing sexualities in either fiction or real-life, especially as characters such as Judy and Kerry are explicitly written as being gay.

However, if you would like to pursue the game’s different romance routes without having to start a new save each time, it is worth considering.
