The inclusion of a multiplayer mode in Cyberpunk 2077 has remained an area of contention since the RPG was first released back in 2020.
As of now, the CD Projekt RED RPG is strictly single-player and the majority of fans definitely prefer it this way.

However, over the past five years, some fans have expressed an interest in the Cyberpunk 2077 sequel potentially featuring a multiplayer mode so that friends can team up and take on Night City together.

Although CDPR has not revealed whether the sequel will include a multiplayer mode, one development team has taken matters into their own hands by creating their very own.
CyberMP is an upcoming multiplayer mod for Cyberpunk 2077 created by modder S1nger and their development team.
The mod has been in development since 2020 and even entered into its working alpha stage back in August 2024.
Now, following some radio silence, the CyberMP team is back with a brand-new video and the news that they have plans to release an open testing beta later this year.

The brand-new video was posted to YouTube earlier this week and fans were quick to shower it with praise.
“Hey everyone! It’s been a while since the last update, but that doesn’t mean progress has stopped, quite the opposite,” the video description reads.
“I’ve been deeply focused on development, using the time to fix numerous bugs, implement improvements, and add exciting new features.”
At the time of writing, the mod is not yet available to download but those interested in hitting Night City with friends can keep up with the project on the official CyberMP Discord channel.
