
PC players are getting this AAA RPG for free, and it’s worth playing over the upcoming remaster.
Those who haven’t played any of the Deus Ex games are unfortunately doing themselves a disservice as while some have aged better than others they’re worth playing for the narratives alone.
Deus Ex: Mankind Divided isn’t claimed to be the best game in the series but it is widely praised by fans, and now PC players can grab the game for free via Amazon.
In this game “your choices will have consequences” as you execute covert operations ans avert yet another worldwide catastrophe.

Like Cyberpunk 2077, Adam Jenson can be augmented and upgraded with a wide variety of weapons and tools to make your job easier, but the core gameplay revolves around effective communication with the in-game NPCs.
You don’t need to have played the previous games, but a bit of context wouldn’t hurt either. Maybe check out some plot summaries online if you think it’ll enhance your experience.
Deus Ex: Mankind Divided will be free via Amazon Luna for another 14 days from the time of writing, returning to its original price of around $30 after 2 February. This is for PC players only so don’t miss your chance to bag it while you can.

The Actual Best Deus Ex Game
Now the reason why Deus Ex: Mankind Divided isn’t viewed as the best game in the series is because the first game exists.

Simply titled Deus Ex, this is widely regarded as one of the best RPGs of all-time, so it’s a shame the upcoming remaster is butchering it…
Announced last year Deus Ex Remastered aims to revitalise the original experience for a modern audience, but so far it’s failing to impress.
You can check out the game’s Steam page and form your own opinion of course but I’d be very surprised if you looked at the before-and-after comparisons provided and come away thinking the remaster looks better.
It looks a little better when you shift to gameplay but I still prefer the original.

Though perhaps I’m just biased as I’ve almost always preferred original games on their original hardware if the option is there.
Perhaps I’m treating it a bit too harshly. I’ll be sure to give it a go when the game launches but in the meantime I think I’d rather just play through Deus Ex: Mankind Divided again…
