Palworld successor quietly announced despite ongoing lawsuit

Weird timing

Another Palworld game is on the way despite the developer facing legal trouble with the Pokémon Company.

Last month the Palworld developers were hit with a lawsuit from the Pokémon Company for similarities across the two brands.

Take a look at Palworld below to see what we mean

Now it’s undeniable that there are similarities between the designs of the Pals and the designs of the Pokémon, but the gameplay is far different and several Pals sport unique designs.

It’s not even as popular as it used to be either, as all the buzz around the game died off months ago following some huge Steam statistics.

Regardless, the Nintendo brand clearly wants its competition gone, and while you'd expect Palworld to lay low for a bit and not cause anymore trouble, it seems the brand has adopted a different strategy.

Publisher Krafton has reportedly signed a new deal with PocketPair to create a version of the game that can be played on mobile phones, which will bring the game to even more players.

This is quite the surprise, as if the lawsuit against them holds weight it could spell disaster for the game as we know it and any other projects on the way, including this mobile phone port.

Palworld is currently available on all major platforms apart from the Nintendo Switch for obvious reasons, so the only direction the brand can go is a sequel or spin-off.

As for the mobile phone version it’ll likely be a bitesize version of the full game with a few features taken out, and it’s unknown if it’ll be a free download or cost something.

At the time of writing it doesn’t seem like the Palworld lawsuit is going to go anywhere, after all the game seemingly has enough going for it to distinguish it from Pokémon, even more so with each new update..
