The Legend of Zelda fans are blown away by this stunning remaster of Twilight Princess.

Created by Shigeru Miyamoto and Takashi Tezuka, The Legend of Zelda series made its debut in 1986 on the NES, and it’s never looked back since becoming one of the most popular video franchises of all time and is still seeing new releases today, the most recent of which is on the Nintendo Switch.

In our review of The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, we said: “It may have taken nearly four decades, but the first mainline Zelda game with the titular princess in the lead role was worth the wait. This is a magnificent adventure that whizzes and pops with imagination, and proudly stands shoulder to shoulder with the very best of Link’s tales.”

I think one of the best aspects of The Legend of Zelda series is that no matter the technical limitations of some generations, most games somehow remain timeless and can be as enjoyable today as they were all those years ago.

One such game is The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess which was originally released for the Nintendo GameCube and Wii in 2006 before arriving as a remaster for the Wii U in 2016.

Despite already receiving an official remaster, along with The Wind Waker, The Legend of Zelda fans would love nothing more than to see new ports on the Nintendo Switch. Whether Nintendo acts on those pleas, remains to be seen.

However, whether those new remasters arrive or not, a fan has taken matters into their own hands by making a gorgeous remaster of Twilight Princess themselves created by the YouTuber, Henriko Magnifico Showcase.

The YouTuber in question mentions that this is an emulation of a legally obtained copy of Twilight Princess that has been made playable on PC and now benefits from 4K texture and shader mods that make the game look so good.

“Always amazed at these texture packs! Good work!” said raffyvalky4527.

“Honestly, I think you deserve a Nobel Peace Prize for this,” declared T9K66.

“This is a beautifully edited trailer,” ColtonWeeks17 replied.

If Nintendo were to release another remaster, this time on Nintendo Switch, I’d at least hope that it looks on par with this fan-made creation. This mod is playable via emulation and details can be found in the description of the YouTube video above.

You can play The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess officially on the Nintendo Wii, and Wii U.
