Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed Shadows hits Nintendo Switch 2 this week, and fans who have already checked the game out are calling it another win for the system.
Having released both Assassin’s Creed Shadows and Star Wars Outlaws on Switch 2 this year, many players have praised these ports for their excellent optimisation, squeezing as much out of the system as possible while not compromising on visual fidelity.
Both of these games are genuinely impressive ports, delivering a PS5 or Xbox Series X/S level of detail with just a few performance drawbacks to account for the fact you can take it on the go with you.
Nevertheless, it sounds like Nintendo Switch 2 might be the home for Ubisoft games over the next generation of gaming, and it’s got us excited for what titles could be next. Here’s three ports we’d like to see brought over next.

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora
This is probably at the top of my list right now. Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora ended up being a lot better than I would have given it credit for. On the surface, it’s probably one of the prettiest open worlds Ubisoft has designed in a long time, delivering a delicious visual feast on the same wavelengths as the popular movie franchise it's based on.
With the higher amount of foliage in Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora compared to Star Wars Outlaws and Assassin’s Creed: Shadows, it’d probably need to employ rather aggressive anti-aliasing techniques to help the environment not stick out too sorely. This might be a challenge for Massive Entertainment and Ubisoft, which might be why a Switch 2 port hasn’t been announced yet.

Still though, given that the game is also receiving a big update today (5 December) that adds a New Game+ mode and third-person perspective, plus the upcoming release of Avatar: Fire and Ash in the cinema, now might be the best time to bring it to Switch 2.

Far Cry 6
There’s plenty of criticism to be directed towards Ubisoft’s open world games, with many calling them shallow, bloated, and inconsequential. But if there’s one thing that can’t be denied about the Far Cry games, it’s that they excel incredibly well at presenting you with a sandbox to go nuts in.

Far Cry 6 is proof of this, giving you so many different tools to mess around with as you explore the game’s fictional Caribbean island of Yara. Flamethrowers, rocket launchers, bows, grenades, and the various creative Supremo and Resolver weapons result in absolute carnage during the various open world segments.
Given how well Far Cry 6 lends itself to short session bursts, it would be a great fit for Switch 2 gamers being able to take this on the go with them.

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey
Okay, so Assassin’s Creed Odyssey has technically been on Nintendo Switch before. However, it’s available as a cloud only game and only in Japan, which is much less than this game deserves.

With Ubisoft now proving that Assassin’s Creed can run on Nintendo Switch 2, there’s no reason for it to not start porting over the rest of the franchise. We’ve already got the earlier games such as Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag and The Ezio Collection via backwards compatibility, so how about the rest of the RPG series?
Assassin’s Creed Odyssey is arguably the best of the bunch.
It had an excellent open world filled with various activities and quests to do, and sported a rather fantastic main story alongside that. For anyone finishing Assassin’s Creed Shadows in the next month or so, it would be recommended they try Odyssey next. So, get it on Switch 2, Ubisoft!
