Stardew Valley meets Final Fantasy in free Nintendo Switch download

A free download on the Nintendo Switch eshop is giving us Stardew Valley and Final Fantasy vibes.

There are loads of great freebies on the Nintendo eshop right now, one of which is the opening chapter for one of the greatest games ever made.

However the freebie we’re talking about this time is for a game that’ll hook Final Fantasy and Stardew Valley fans instantly, Harvestella.

For those who might have never heard of it, Harvestella is a game set in the fictional world of Quietus, a mysterious place filled with threats and mysteries the player will have to overcome.

To do this they’ll start their very own farm which they’ll run alongside some of the locals, growing and harvesting crops, chatting with the NPCs and exploring everything the gorgeous world has to offer.

In essence it's just like Stardew Valley, but instead of moving to a cosy little farm to escape your worries and fears, you’ll instead be wrapped up in a Final Fantasy-esque catastrophe. Not the vibe you’d expect from a farming game but here we are.

While you can buy and play the full game on PC and Nintendo Switch, you can grab a free demo of the game on Nintendo’s home console to see if it’s your cup of tea before committing to a purchase.

Weirdly the version of the game on Steam doesn’t have a demo available, so if you want to give it a go the Nintendo Switch will be your only option.

The demo should give you a taste of what to expect from the full game, and if it turns out that it just isn’t for you there’s no harm done as you haven’t paid for anything yet.
