Pokémon Scarlet & Violet free download available now for all players

Pokémon Scarlet & Violet’s free epilogue update is finally available for all players, here’s what you need to know about it.

As far as Pokémon games go, the latest entries have been rough around the edges, to say the least. Pokémon Scarlet & Violet has been no exception as upon release, it was chock-full of bugs, glitches and performance issues that left fans begging for a Nintendo Switch 2 so we can finally have a worthy game.

Pokémon Scarlet & Violet's DLC has been an improvement though, and you check it out below.

The DLC expansions for the game have been seen as an improvement, not making a vastly superior difference, but at least addressing a few of the more glaring problems in the base game.

While the paid expansions haven’t been everyone’s cup of tea, Game Freak has at least released a free epilogue update for those who spent their hard-earned cash on the game’s DLC, and it’s delightful.

At the end of the Mochi Mayhem Epilogue quest, you’ll fight a new Pokémon called Pecharunt, a Poison/Ghost-type that’s incredibly powerful. If you use another DLC Pokémon called Ogerpon, or any of the The Loyal Three, the game will play secret cutscenes that tie into the lore explained earlier to the player.

To put it simply, Ogerpon and the other three legendaries had some serious beef with Pechurant long ago, so if you match them up in the final battle Ogerpon will go berserk upon seeing one of its biggest enemies. Perchurant will also react to seeing them again, making for a cool and unique secret interaction you don’t typically see in Pokémon games.

There’ll also be a secret ending cutscene, as well as the chance to fight Pechurant again after the story has concluded.

This update is completely free for any players who purchased and completed The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero DLC for Pokémon Scarlet & Violet, and it’s well worth checking out if you’ve finished the game and want to put a little more time into your playthrough.
