You can claim free DLC to be used in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet right now.
Today, The Pokémon Company hosted its latest ‘Pokémon Presents’ event and not only did we get updates on upcoming animated productions, but it was also announced that in 2022’s Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, you can claim free DLC.
In our review of Pokémon Scarlet, we said: “Pokémon Scarlet and Violet have finally delivered on the promise of an open-world entry, but with all the technical issues and stripped-back features, it’s hard not to feel like the Nintendo Switch held these games back.”
“The next mainline games will be the tenth generation, a major milestone, and you have to assume that by the time it releases, a new Nintendo console will be out. If this is what an open-world Pokémon game is now, it's tantalising to consider what is coming in the future.”

Earlier this year, following the release of the Nintendo Switch 2, Pokémon Scarlet and Violet benefited from a free new-gen update improving the resolution and framerate.
Many of the issues that fans had with both Pokémon Scarlet and Violet were related to its visuals and performance, so hopefully, the free new-gen update fixed some of those concerns.
The update will no doubt help to pass the time for fans eagerly awaiting the release of Pokémon Legends: Z-A later this year. Hopefully, when that game releases, it will be up to the standards that fans expect.
In total, there will be two tracksuits available, one for each game. “STRACKSU1T” for Pokémon Scarlet and “VTRACKSU1T” for Pokémon Violet.

The quoted codes above can be redeemed in-game via the ‘Mystery Gift’ feature with an internet connection. They can also only be redeemed once per account.
It should also be stated that the ‘Mystery Gift’ feature will not become available until about an hour or two into the game. So if you’re, please keep that in mind.
Pokémon Legends: Z-A will be released on 16 October 2025.
