Pokémon Legends: Z-A finally has a release date, and according to plan, it’s releasing later this year unlike other titles…
Nintendo and The Pokémon Company just announced the news online, along with some gorgeous new artwork that’s apparently going to be the game’s cover.
The game will officially launch on 16 October, quite a while away but not the worst as the game was always said to be launching in Fall 2025.

I'm sure GTA VI fans feel great about that, given their game was also meant to launch towards the end of this year but was delayed to 2026 instead.
It’ll launch on both the Nintendo Switch and the Nintendo Switch 2, with the Nintendo Switch 2 version being a more advanced version, due to the more powerful hardware.
This has been a bit of a concern to many as it's believed the Nintendo Switch version will suffer similar issues to Pokémon Legends: Arceus and Pokémon Scarlet & Violet in terms of both pop-in and general performance issues.
Most of the gameplay we've seen up to now has been the gaming running on the Nintendo Switch though, and apart from a few flat textures and a couple of hiccups here and there, it hasn't looked too bad.

The game will follow the same formula that Pokémon Legends: Arceus started, with a more open-world approach to the gameplay but rather than travelling to the past, this game is set in the present day back in Kalos where Pokémon X & Y was set.
This means the return of the Mega Evolutions, great to see them back, and, of course, some familiar Pokémon; mainly the starters which consists of Chikorita, Totodile and Tepig. New legendaries will also feature.
So, the next Pokémon game lands on Nintendo Switch platforms on 16 October 2025, the countdown has officially begun trainers.
