After an unexpected hiatus, Pokémon Pokopia is back to business as usual with a brand new event, Wish Upon a Jirachi.
Featuring Gen III’s Jirachi, of course, this latest in-game event is all about making wishes come true, according to its official announcement.
As with all events, Pokémon Pokopia players will be able to collect a new type of currency, which, in turn, can be exchanged for limited-time items at your Pokémon Center of choice.
There’s no word yet on whether you’ll be able to use these items to build habitats for other new ‘mon beyond Jirachi.

This event’s currency is ‘sparkling wish notes’.
Jirachi will offer you the recipe for regular wish notes upon their arrival. You can then fulfil the requests of other ‘mon who will help transform your normal wish notes into sparkling wish notes in return.
The event’s furniture is said to be “inspired by the starry sky”. Items include a star-themed bed, wardrobe, table, lamp, rug, vanity, and more.

As is always the case with these events, you do need to have rebuilt at least one Pokémon Center in-game for proceedings to get underway.
Wish Upon a Jirachi doesn’t kick off until 23 June though, so you have a few days to get the Withered Wasteland Pokémon Center built if you haven’t already; it’s a pretty simple process.
The event is sticking around for a couple of weeks until 8 July, so commiserations to those who simply hate their Pokémon Center being taken over with the same goods every day.
After Wish Upon a Jirachi wraps up in July, Pokémon Pokopia players don’t have too long to wait until the beloved cosy game is next updated with new content.
August will mark the arrival of a major free update and the first wave of the recently announced paid Expansion Pass (£30.99 / $34.99).
Pokémon Pokopia’s free update arrives in August and will introduce the ability to dive.
Yes, that means you’ll finally be able to grab all of that underwater loot that’s been dotted about since launch without explanation.
The dive ability will be usable across all biomes, with players able to even build underwater.
It nicely complements the first wave of Pokémon Pokopia’s upcoming Expansion Pass.
The first wave of the pass also lands in August and will introduce a new underwater biome by the name of Bubbly Basin.
This completely new location will also boast its own recipes, habitats, ‘mon, and more.
The second wave is then scheduled for late 2026 and will simply introduce “additional new features” while wave three will arrive in 2027, bringing with it yet another new biome.
In previous leaks, five additional locations leaked for the game. Those are:
It seems like the Cerulean area is Bubbly Basin with the 2027 third wave of the Expansion Pass confirmed to add one of the remaining four.
That still leaves three locations though, suggesting a second paid series of expansions will roll out throughout 2027 and even possibly into 2028.
