Pokémon fans are not happy with the newly revised version of a Starmie evolution.

We’re just a few short weeks away from the highly anticipated launch of Pokémon Legends: Z-A on both the Nintendo Switch and the new Nintendo Switch 2.

After the release of the underwhelming Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet in 2022, many felt that these entries fell below the standard that fans expect, especially concerning the outdated visuals.

Another complaint that fans have had over the years is that the combat mechanics of the Pokémon series needed a revamp. Judging by our hands-on preview of Pokémon Legends: Arceus, it appears that at least this issue will be addressed.

While gameplay is often the most important factor with most video games, it’s always a bonus that a game looks nice too, and with a bit of luck, that will be the case with Pokémon Legends: Z-A.

Naturally, with a visual improvement overhaul, it’s also likely that the creatures of Pokémon Legends: Z-A may also have a redesign, albeit a subtle one. However, judging by this evolution of Starmie, not every Pokémon fan is keen.

“Mega Starmie’s fully leaked model,” said Redditor Icy-ConcentrationC, sharing an image of the Pokémon in question.

Despite this image looking legit, it’s always worth taking leaks with a pinch of salt, at least until Nintendo confirms otherwise.

“We all collectively decided it's dumb enough to be real,” declared ChronaMewX.

“It looks incredibly stupid. I choose to believe it's real,” replied TheJayKay.

“There's no way this is real,” exclaimed Suspicious_Plant4231.

“Are more than half of these Pokémon going to suck, but just about dumb enough for people to consider them, so bad it's good?” asked Kamken.

Pokémon Legends: Z-A will be released on 16 October 2025. Fingers crossed, this game will be better received at launch than its predecessor.
