The Pokémon Company has unveiled a new look at its next Mega Evolution for Pokémon Legends: Z-A.

Later this month the latest Legends game will receive its first major DLC expansion, Mega Dimension, taking players to an alternate dimension and introducing them to a variety of new Mega Evolutions.

A very long list leaked ahead of the DLCs release and was exciting for some but disappointing for others.

Recently The Pokémon Company officially announced one of these Megas as Mega Lucario Z, yet another alternate form for the increasingly power Fighting-Type Pokémon,

While the form successfully turned a few heads it was arguably for all the wrong reasons as fans have begun roasting the form’s appearance.

A popular comparison doing the rounds is Mega Lucario Z looks like the virtual singer and Japanese software brand Hatsune Miku, as both characters boast long, blue hair as part of their design.

Others have compared the form to Dragon Ball Super, saying it’s reminiscent of Goku and Vegeta’s Super Saiyan Blue form.

Some have even said the design is more reminiscent of something from Palworld…

Stylistically I think it contrasts well with Lucario’s original Mega Evolution, which gave the ‘mon red highlights and an overall more menacing aura.

Mega Dimension’s entire gimmick is that Pokémon have far more potential for Mega Evolution than we originally thought, and there actually are other forms we never knew about due to not having the relevant stones to trigger the transformation.

Getting Ready For A Mega Dimension Expedition

With the Mega Dimension expansion quickly approaching there are a number of things players can do to get prepared for it.

You’re going to need a top-notch team to take on this new challenge so it’d be a good idea to complete the main story if you haven’t already, as once you’re in the post-game you have access to far more powerful Pokémon and almost all of the Mega Evolutions.

For those seeking a bit of extra power though you’re in luck, as recently The Pokémon Company added a new Mystery Gift to the game, which triggers a side-quest to catch the legendary Mew-Two.

The quest also gives you access to both of the ‘mon’s Mega Evolutions, so he’s definitely one you’ll want to add to your team.

Pokémon Legends: Z-A’s first expansion, Mega Dimension, is dropping on 10 December for both the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 versions of the game.
