Pokémon fans surprised with free download you can claim now

Pokémon freebies on Switch? Huge

Pokémon fans are due a new game which unfortunately won’t be out until the Nintendo Switch 2 launches, presumably, but these freebies will do for now.

Pokémon Legends:: Z-A is the next game on The Pokémon Company’s release schedule and it sounds really promising so far, especially the idea that Mega Evolutions could be returning.

See the teaser trailer for the game below

It’s believed the game won’t launch until the Nintendo Switch 2 does though, which sounds like a blessing as the past few Pokémon games haven’t looked great in terms of graphics and performance, so perhaps a hardware upgrade was just what the series needed.

As you’re going to be waiting for a while, why not dive back into Pokémon Scarlet & Violet, as the game is still being supported with new raids including a Shiny Raquaza as a Christmas gift.

Additionally Nintendo Switch users can claim several Pokémon themed freebies to add to their profile, again inspired by Pokémon Scarlet & Violet.

The shiny Raquaza has made another appearance as well as the evolved starter Pokémon from the games. NPC characters are also present and a few other exclusive Pokémon from those games.

There’s little to do with these profile pictures other than slap them on your image every now and then, a shame really as the Nintendo Switch could have used a better social element like the Nintendo Wii and Nintendo Wii U had.

Maybe the Nintendo Switch 2 will innovate and actually give us a reason to claim these profile pictures, maybe let us make a background out of them or something.

Either way they’re available to claim now and should be there for quite a while, so if you’re a fan of the Pokémon games or just enjoy collecting this little freebies go for it, the Raquaza one is cool enough by itself.
