Nintendo Switch owners will no doubt be counting down the days till Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream – Welcome Version.

Previews have appeared online and the general consensus is it’s a great time, and a worthy sequel to the original Tomodachi Life on the Nintendo 3DS.

Animal Crossing has some serious competition all of a sudden, as despite its latest Nintendo Switch 2 upgrade this Tomodachi Life sequel in addition to Pokémon Pokopia are both fighting for the title of cosiest island game on Nintendo Switch consoles.

Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream launches on 16 April which is less than a month away. For those who simply can’t wait to start making Miis though take a look at this new freebie available right now on your Nintendo Switch consoles.

Express Ticket To Your Dream Life

From today onward players can jump into Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream – Welcome Version, an introduction to your new island life.

Players can make a grand total of three Miis that you want to see on your dream island, all of which can be transferred directly into the game when it launches.

A similar approach was taken for Miitopia and it’s a great idea, as making Miis can be very time-consuming depending on how creative/accurate you want to be.

It’s not just the aesthetics of your Mii that you need to consider either, as their personality is also something you can customise. Personalities alter how the Miis interact with each other in the game, such as natural-born leaders or lone-wolf loners.

Having three Miis ready to go as soon as you download the full game will allow you to jump into the “action” sooner rather than later, then you can make the rest of your Miis while your premade ones start exploring the island.

So Welcome Version is already worth downloading but for those looking for further incentive downloading it will net you a bonus freebie for the full game.

Playing will unlock a hamster costume that you can gift to your Miis once your set up, and while it’s quite a bold fashion-statement it’s worth grabbing, as gifts are a great way of keeping your Miis happy in-game.

Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream – Welcome Version is available now for Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 users right now, and is well-worth playing before jumping into the full version on 16 April.

Your digital dream life awaits.
