Do you hear that? That imaginary klaxon means you have just 24 hours left to nab these Nintendo freebies.

Yes, another generous batch of Nintendo Switch Online icons arrived this week, but they’re not sticking around for much longer with a new batch due tomorrow.

As such, if you’re a fan of Mario, you’re going to want to pay attention and heed this advice.

I should hope that’s all of you because let’s face it, who is a Nintendo Switch owner and not a fan of Mario?

The latest freebies are all themed around several of the plumber's timeless adventures from Super Mario 3D World to Super Mario Odyssey, with some nods to Mario Kart 8 Deluxe thrown in for good measure.

In total, this latest batch includes 40 profile icons, 20 backgrounds, and 20 frames all of which can add a touch of pizazz to your Nintendo Switch Online profile.

Mario’s latest adventure saw him team up with his brother Luigi in the aptly titled Mario & Luigi: Brothership.

If you’re wondering how to nab these icons, you can do so from the Nintendo Switch Online portal where you’ll want to navigate to rewards.

Icons cost 10 Platinum Points each, with frames and backgrounds setting you back five points.

“But you said they were free?” I hear you heckle.

Yes, Platinum Points is a free currency. You can earn Platinum Points via completing easy tasks including surveys and by, for example, linking your Nintendo Account to your Network ID.

That latter job rewards you with 100 points which should allow you to shop to your heart’s content in the icons store.

These Super Mario-themed offerings are only sticking around though until 2 December when a brand new batch of freebies will then arrive in their stead.

That feline Goomba is coming home with me.
