It may still not have been officially announced but we are pretty sure it won’t be long before we see our first look at the Nintendo Switch 2.

With the Nintendo Switch celebrating its seven-year anniversary earlier this year, it is almost time to let the handheld go.

It is worth remembering that subscribing to Nintendo Switch Online will gain you access to hundreds of free games!

As the home of some epic releases such as The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Animal Crossing: New Horizons, the Nintendo handheld has served us well.

However, it is time for an upgrade and it will come in the form of the Nintendo Switch 2.

Although we have yet to receive an official announcement from Nintendo, it is expected any time soon and not only that, we have already seen a sneak peek of the handheld thanks to recent leaks.

With speculation being the only thing to go on right now, the one thing we do now know is that the Nintendo Switch 2 will not feature one controversial feature.

AI technology.

The rise of AI has become more and more prevalent over recent years and has found itself creeping into the most unlikely places.

However, according to Mario and Zelda creator Shigeru Miyamoto, AI technology is not something they want to explore right now.

In an interview with the New York Times that has been translated, Miyamoto revealed that Nintendo would rather go “in a different direction”.

“It might seem like we are just going the opposite direction for the sake of going in the opposite direction, but it really is trying to find what makes Nintendo special,” he said.

“There is a lot of talk about A.I., for example. When that happens, everyone starts to go in the same direction, but that is where Nintendo would rather go in a different direction.”

It seems as though Miyamoto isn’t the only Nintendo spokesperson who thinks this as president Shuntaro Furukawa recently noted that AI “can be used in creative ways, but we recognize that it may also raise issues with intellectual property rights.”

So it would seem as though we will not have to worry about the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 featuring any of the controversial technology when it is finally released.
