We all knew the Nintendo Switch 2 was going to be a massive upgrade from its predecessor, with upscaled visuals, better framerates, and fast loading times.

However, players who have their hands on their Switch 2 already are showing off the loading times and leaving others shocked and overjoyed.

Over on Twitter, one such player has uploaded a video of them loading into a game of Super Smash Bros Ultimate, which is one of the Switch’s older titles now.

They obviously weren’t expecting that much of an improvement, but were wowed by the hardware, getting into a round of brawling in well under 10 seconds.

Elsewhere online, fans are reporting that loading times are cut down by over 75%, showing a vast improvement over the older hardware, which really shouldn’t come as a surprise.

Even loading up the eShop is considerably faster, according to reporter Andy Robinson on BlueSky.

Back over on Twitter, fans are thrilled to see they can get into games quicker with the Switch 2, and are eager to get stuck in themselves.

“Damn! There's something exciting about the game loading almost instantly,” comments one fan.

While another says, “These are the types of videos I need to see, outside the new games, of course.”

Knowing that the new hardware will give our older games a fresh lease of life is enticing, and the chatter around these improvements, as well as increased framerates for games like Pokémon Violet and Scarlet, have me excited.

The positivity keeps flowing with fans celebrating the upgrades, as one exclaims, “OH MY GOD, THAT S**T FAST ASF!”

As more and more units find their way to fans, we’ll likely see a lot of these videos in the coming weeks, showing just what the Switch 2 can really accomplish. It’s going to be thrilling.
