Nintendo Switch Online subscribers can claim two more classic games available to download right now.

Nintendo Switch Online was once a free service that granted you access to online multiplayer. Though to be fair, Nintendo was always open about this service one day costing money and no longer being free but it is also cheaper than PS Plus and Xbox Game Pass.

However, when it was required to pay for Nintendo Switch Online, a selected library of Nintendo classics from the NES, Game Boy and SNES eras became part of the service. It includes beloved titles such as Super Mario Bros., The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, Wario Land 3 and many more.

There is also an upper tier with Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion which not only includes additional titles from the SEGA Mega Drive, N64 and Game Boy Advance but also free expansions to Super Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Animal Crossing: New Horizons and Splatoon 3.

This week, Nintendo has announced two new titles available to download now in the NES and Game Boy libraries, and if you’re a Tetris fan, you’re in for a treat.

Available to download now at no extra cost for both tiers of Nintendo Switch Online are Tetris for the NES and Tetris DX for the Game Boy, just in time for the 40th anniversary of the franchise.

While both games are fun, I’d say that Tetris DX is the pick of the bunch. Originally released for the Game Boy Color, Tetris DX includes two additional modes, ‘Ultra’ a mode that lasts three minutes and ‘Vs.’ where you’d go up against the CPU, both of which are intense.

As with all games included in the Nintendo Switch Online libraries, they will always be available to play as long as you have an active subscription.

We can’t wait to see what other classic games are announced for Nintendo Switch Online in the new year.
