If you’re a fan of games like Animal Crossing and Don’t Starve, then Nintendo has an extra special treat for you this Christmas.

But be quick about it, as this game is only available to play for free on Nintendo Switch for a short period.

As revealed on the official Nintendo of America Twitter account, the cute life sim Cozy Grove will be free for Nintendo Switch Online members starting from tomorrow, 12 December.

“Nintendo Switch Online members! From 12/11 at 10am PT to 12/17 at 11:59pm PT, you can download and try the Cozy Grove game at no additional cost,” announced Nintendo.

Developers Spry Fox describes Cozy Grove as “a life-sim game about camping on a haunted, ever-changing island” where you’ll be tasked with “finding new hidden secrets and helping soothe the local ghosts”.

Take a look at the game in action below.

They also specify that “like Animal Crossing,” Cozy Grove is “synced to real world time”.

What that basically means is that the quests and the content in the game should only keep you busy for about an hour each day, at which point you’re expected to give the game a break and jump back into things 24 hours later.

Now I’ve not played Cozy Grove, but I have played Spry Fox’s other big hit Road Not Taken - and that is an absolute banger of a game.

However, even though I can’t give you any first-hand knowledge of the game, I can tell you that Cozy Grove has earned a "Very Positive" score on Steam with over 89% of the 6,765 reviews being positive.

Considering the free trial for the game only lasts a week and the game is best played in short bursts over consecutive days, I highly suggest you try it out immediately to get the full experience.

Just don’t get too attached, if you were never planning on buying it after the trial ends.
