We’re putting this out there now: if this is true, it’s huge news.

The Nintendo Switch 2 is shaping up to be quite the powerful console, more powerful than any of us had been expecting if this leak has any semblance of truth.

When the new Switch will be revealed is still up for debate. However, what isn’t, apparently, are the games that will be released on it.

The “first officially announced game” landing on the Switch 2 has already got gamers hyped about the console’s capabilities.

However, we wager this latest leak will excite them more.

As shared on Twitter by a leaker, claims that Elden Ring is coming to the next Nintendo console have been made.

Can you imagine Shadow of the Erdtree on the Nintendo Switch 2?

User @NWeedle revealed this surprising information, saying, “A port of Elden Ring for SWITCH 2 is in development, which will receive the game in a “Definitive Edition”. It seems that Virtuos could be responsible for this port and that it would arrive by the end of 2025.”

Even though the current Switch can run large, detailed experiences like The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, it’s fair to say that Elden Ring is a far bigger, more in-depth game.

Obviously, the Switch 2 will be an upgrade and thus should be able to handle these huge open-world adventures, but FromSoftware’s beloved game seems like an especially shocking choice.

That being said, Dark Souls Remastered has run quite well on the Switch, meaning there could be some validity to these claims.

What is more, another individual came forward to say that they "heard the same back in March”, although they can’t offer any further details at this time.

It’s the kind of leak that we have to respond to with “I’ll believe it when I see it”.

We’d love for Elden Ring to be ported to the Switch 2, but seeing as the next Switch hasn’t even been revealed yet, the 2025 release date for said port feels mighty ambitious.
