If you were hoping this would be about the Nintendo Switch 2, you’re going to be disappointed. Or maybe not, because this Nintendo alarm clock actually looks pretty great.

The alarm clock, dubbed ‘Alarmo’ which is the most Mario-sounding name they could have come up with, will feature motion controls because of course it will.

The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom is the latest big budget Nintendo game for the Switch

Alarmo isn’t your bog-standard alarm clock though. No, not at all. It actually responds to your movements meaning you won’t have to get out of bed to hit snooze.

Which, kind of defeats the purpose in my mind, but still, it’s a pretty little thing.

This hardware has been floating around for a while after it appeared with the Federal Communications Commission last month.

Fans of Nintendo were wondering what it could be, speculating anything from a new console to, well, something like this.

What we’re all really here for is the range of sounds the Alarmo will blast out in an attempt to get you out of bed.

The alarm tones on offer all come from big Nintendo games - Breath of the Wild, Pikmin 4, Splatoon 3, Super Mario Odyssey, and Ring Fit Adventure.

The screen on the clock can also display “audio scenes” with accompanying music and tones based on several other games with more to come in the future.

Of course, Alarmo isn’t a simple alarm clock, it will include features often seen in sleep apps for smartphones.

According to the advertising materials, Alarmo will monitor how much you move in your sleep, plus there are “sleepy sounds” and “soothing music” to help you drift off.

Alarmo will cost around $99.99 and releases in 2025 - perfect for Nintendo fans who struggle to get out of bed, or just want to wake up to the sounds of Link opening a chest.
