It’s another day which means we have another rumour that a beloved remake of a Legend of Zelda game is coming to Nintendo Switch.

For a franchise as vast as The Legend of Zelda, we have so many games that we can revisit time after time and discussions as to which is the best can depend on who you ask. Perhaps the best picks of the bunch are Ocarina of Time, The Wind Waker and Breath of the Wild.

Check out The Wind Waker HD trailer below!

As for the topic of today’s discussion, it’s all about The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker which was originally released in 2002 for the Nintendo GameCube before receiving a HD remaster for the Wii U in 2013.

Over ten years have passed since the release of The Wind Waker HD in 2013 and along with Twilight Princess, fans have been calling for another re-release on the Nintendo Switch, and it seems, at least for one of those games, that wish may be granted.

As shared in a Reddit post by International-Mess75, a new remaster of The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker has been spotted on a Russian retailer outlet. It appears to have a placeholder release date of 31 December 2024.

It’s of course worth keeping in mind that this apparent retail listing is by no means confirmation and it could just be an attempt by the retail to garner some attention. Plus, it’s no secret that fans would love to see this remaster.

“This is likely nothing. Remember Metroid Prime Trilogy on Switch was listed by some retailers including Best Buy,” KjSuperstar08 recalled.

“I hope this is legit but, I won't be surprised if it isn't,” replied Valkyrie743.

“That's cool, if this is true then I hope Twilight Princess will get a Switch port too,” said Pleasant_Incident_61.

I think at this point, we’d be more shocked if Nintendo were to not release The Wind Waker or Twilight Princess on Nintendo Switch at some point. Hopefully, it’s not a case of if, but when.

We’ll keep you posted when we get more information on the prospective re-releases of those beloved entries in The Legend of Zelda series.
