Legend of Zelda Nintendo Switch 2 Debut Gets Official New Look

New characters revealed

Koei Tecmo has released an official new look at Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment, the first Legend of Zelda game to debut on Switch 2.

You can already play a great deal of Zelda games on the Switch 2, but we haven’t had one yet that has been released exclusively for the platform.

However, this will change next month when Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment will be released on 6th November, 2025.

It’s set in the distant past of Hyrule’s history, where Princess Zelda has been transported in time via her Secret Stone. There, she meets some of the rulers who formed Hyrule’s early history like King Rauru and Queen Sonia, who she must assist in stopping Ganondorf from invading the land.

In the build up to launch, Koei Tecmo has released an official first look at some new characters who will appear in Age of Imprisonment.

The sages appear as Zelda’s companions throughout the story of Age of Imprisonment, and they’ve now been given new profiles detailing their names, role within the game, as well as some new artwork detailing their appearances.

Here are the official details of each new character revealed (via Nintendo Everything):

  • Argusta: The leader of the Goron tribe. He is intelligent and generous. He has known Rauru for a long time and is a close friend.
  • Kia: A Zora princess skilled in martial arts, her bravery in battle inspires the people she leads.
  • Krafika: The leader of the Rito tribe and a resourceful warrior. His words and actions are often difficult to understand, but deep down he cares for his friends and is loyal.
  • Ardi: A kind-hearted warrior who unites the Gerudo tribe. She obeys the tribe leader Ganondorf under the Gerudo tribe’s code.
  • Lanaria: Zelda’s maid. Though she has a gentle personality, she is quick at her work and is trusted by Rauru. She has a strong curiosity about the mystical and always carries her record book with her.

Considering we’re a month out from launch, it’s good to see that we’re finally learning a little more about the characters and setting that’ll be showing up in Age of Imprisonment.

It’s been a while since we had some new information, and I’m sure Nintendo will want to start going a bit heavier on the marketing now that it’s coming out in the next month.

Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment will release on 6th November, 2025 for Nintendo Switch 2.
