Every other game may have been slightly overshadowed yesterday with Rockstar’s surprise trailer drop for GTA VI but for Elden Ring fans, this recent announcement isn't something you want to miss.

Courtesy of the FromSoftware Games Event Spring 2025, which took place in Tokyo on 6 May, we now have more information surrounding the launch of Elden Ring on the Nintendo Switch 2.

In the meantime, check out the trailer for the upcoming Elden Ring: Nightreign below!

It was previously announced that the hit title would be receiving a Tarnished Edition that would launch on the brand-new Nintendo Switch 2 later this year.

Thanks to this recent FromSoft event though, we now know some of the new content which will be arriving alongside it.

According to a report by Famitsu, the Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition for the Nintendo Switch 2 will feature two brand-new character classes: Knight of Ides and Heavy Knight.

We don’t yet know what abilities these two new classes will be capable of but we can assume that as Knights, they will feature a lot of defensive moves.

Not only that but the Tarnished Edition will also include customisation for your trusty Spirit Steed, Torrent.

More specifically, there will be three new customisation options for your horse as well as four new sets of armour for The Tarnished, new weapons, and multiple new combat-related skills to learn.

So far, it seems as though the Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition will act as a small DLC, offering new cosmetics and the two classes but not anything that could move it into the expansion category.

Other platforms will also get to experience this new content whilst Nintendo Switch 2 owners will get to dive into Elden Ring and its Shadow of the Erdtree expansion.

The Nintendo Switch successor is set to launch on 5 June so there is just under a month to go before players can see the bigger and better Nintendo handheld.
