Cyberpunk 2077 to welcome surprise new 2025 launch

The leaks were true

We did see a leak earlier this week but now it has officially been confirmed that Cyberpunk 2077 is heading to the Nintendo Switch 2 later this year.

Titled Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition, this will mark the first time that the hit 2020 RPG will be heading to a Nintendo console and it just so happens that it will be arriving on Nintendo Switch 2’s release day.

Need a recap? Check out the trailer for Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty below!

Despite controversy surrounding the CD Projekt RED release with the game being launched in an almost unplayable state for many, Cyberpunk 2077 has come on leaps and bounds in the years following.

Thanks to dedication from the team, both the base game and its Phantom Liberty DLC have gone on to cement themselves as some of the best RPGs in the genre so it is perhaps no wonder that Cyberpunk 2077 is now making its way to the upcoming Nintendo console.

Arriving on 5 June, the same day that the Nintendo Switch 2 launches, players will be able to experience Cyberpunk 2077 on handheld for the first time.

We can assume that the launch will also come alongside its Phantom Liberty DLC which our very own Ewan Moore called “maybe the best expansion I’ve ever played” in his review.

“I really can’t say enough good things about Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty,” he shared.

“It fills me with joy to be able to report that this is a deeply ambitious expansion that fires on all cylinders and never delivers anything less than a stellar experience. CD Projekt RED is walking away from Cyberpunk 2077 in the best possible way, delivering on the game’s immense potential and dropping one final, unforgettable adventure.”

Cyberpunk 2077 arriving on the Nintendo Switch will also mark an unforgettable end to the game’s development as this time last year, CDPR revealed that it had wrapped up work on the game ready to turn its attention to the sequel.

The sequel, codenamed Project Orion, is in the early stages of development but if Cyberpunk 2077 is anything to go by, it will be another epic instalment from the Poland-based development team.

For now, we can dive into the hit 2020 on the Nintendo Switch 2 this summer.
