Animal Crossing officially returns in November, mark your calendars

Heads up, villagers. Animal Crossing makes an official return later this year.

Nintendo’s Animal Crossing series has always been big, but it felt like the pandemic gave it a much larger reach when Animal Crossing New Horizons exploded in popularity.

Now we all share in the trauma of accidentally buying a wrong painting from Redd, or inadvertently having to sell all of our turnips at a loss due to a bad market.

Still, I’m sure we’re all excited for when Nintendo will release the next Animal Crossing game. Surely it’s not going to be too long away, right?

To keep us occupied in the meantime, Animal Crossing is returning later this year in the form of a new collaboration with Re-ment.

For those who don’t know, Re-ment is a toy brand with a focus on selling highly-detailed miniatures and playsets. In the past, it collaborated with the likes of Disney, Sanrio, and the Kellogg Company.

Now, it appears that Animal Crossing is added to the list, with six new playsets announced for later this year.

Each playset appears to be a small diorama of an interior based on an Animal Crossing character, and their house or abode they usually hang out in.

From the looks of it, the villagers Bob, Whitney, and Marshal will get their own sets, as well as Isabelle, Brewster, and Timmy & Tommy too.

It looks like the sets are designed to fit together, where you can mix and match characters between each interior to create your own scenes.

It’s also pretty likely that this will get multiple series, so if the first set does well then more villagers and characters could make appearances. My favourite villager is Flurry, so it’d be cool to get her.
