Animal Crossing New Horizons players probably missed this bizarre museum secret that can only be found at night.

You wouldn’t typically associate Animal Crossing games with hidden secrets but Nintendo did sneak a few in there.

The one we’re talking about today can be found in Blathers’ museum but only once the sun has gone down.

In a thread discussing things most players probably missed during their playthroughs Reddit user Anodica says “If you go to the Museum at night and you're not visiting or having someone visit you, head on over to where the bugs are.”

They continued to say: “There's a giant tree where a lot of the larger, beetle-like species are kept. You'll see all the bugs gathered around in a circle, watching two bugs in the middle of the ring fight. Eventually, one will fly away and only the winner will remain.”

Now I’ve put so many hours in Animal Crossing New Horizons and worked very hard to populate the museum as quickly as possible, yet despite all visits to look upon my works I don’t think I ever went at night…

Turns out I’m not the only one either, as other comments followed up on Anodica’s discovery to say “Oh my god I have to find this” and others shared YouTube videos of the bugs in action. As far as I’m aware there’s nothing to see in the aquarium part of the museum.

It’s worth checking out the rest of the thread too, as there are likely plenty of other secrets you might have missed despite so many hours in the game.

With the Nintendo Switch 2 being a significant upgrade over the Nintendo Switch, I’m hoping the next Animal Crossing game really pushes the boat out and gives us something we’ve never seen before.
