Grand Theft Auto fans want the next game to be bigger than their wildest dreams, and judging from what we’ve seen so far that could be a reality.

GTA VI is officially launching later this year provided there are no nasty delays on the way, and there’s a lot of anxiety surrounding its release.

For starters there’s that aforementioned delay, then there’s the second trailer which is driving fans rabid as they attempt to lock down a potential premiere date. Then there’s the price, as analysts reckon the game could be the first to be sold at $100, and the equivalent to that price in other regions.

Back to lighter topics though fans are more focused on the game itself, specifically how big of an open-world Rockstar Games is cooking up this time.

Rockstar has made its mark in the game industry when it comes to open-worlds, and while we all know GTA VI will be the biggest one by far many are wondering how much bigger it’ll actually be.

“Am I the only one who wants a RIDICULOUSLY large map?” asked SpecialAd2047 on Reddit, but declaring that they’d love a map that’s “like 10-15, or even 20x the size of GTA V's.”

That’s a big ask for sure, but one Rockstar could feasibly do since GTA VI is being made with current-gen hardware exclusively.

“My first priority is map content density, I want it packed with things to do, side quests, and interesting stuff. As long as it has that I want it as big as possible” said one commenter, something I think we can all agree on.

That sentiment was reiterated when another commenter said “a map as big as you say will feel empty and boring because of how little detail there is.”

GTA VI is going to be a fantastic game no doubt, but the question has to be asked how big is too big when it comes to an open-world?
