The fans’ reactions to the BioShock 4 leak are in, and it looks like the hype train has started speeding along the trains once more.

Our first look at 2K’s new BioShock title comes before an official reveal, meaning much could have changed since the time the screenshot was taken and now.

Still, while the developers will have undoubtedly made various tweaks, that isn't deterring fans from dreaming of the story awaiting them once the game is here.

Seeing as BioShock 4's trailer has yet to be released, let's take a look at Judas instead

As detailed in an MP1st article, the image displayed “is from an early demo build of the game featured in a 2021 showcase reel.”

Furthermore, the image shows very little in the way of narrative and/or setting details. However, what it does show is the codename “Parkside”; as the article explains, this games has been all but confirmed to be set in a “1960s Antarctic city”.

This is the tidbit information that has fans salivating.

“At the expense of possibly generating unwarranted hype, please imagine a BioShock set in the 1964 World's Fair. If the Cloud Chamber folks nail the production design we're in for a real treat,” said Redditor thr1ceuponatime.

It could be argued that we’ve already had this in Atomic Heart, as the two games exist in the same universe, however, it’s not a quote-unquote “BioShock game”.

The issue with fans losing it over the leak is the fact that it likely doesn’t represent the game now.

As user _Hydrop_ explains, “2021? A lot can change in three years (especially when you’re replacing most of your staff consistently),” they added, “but I do have faith, and this looks like an excellent direction.”

Before we get a chance to explore the corrupt and intriguing world of BioShock 4, though, Judas will give us that quick taste of a BioShock-esque experience.

Let’s join hands and pray more screenshots from the new game will surface before we drive ourselves around the bend imagining all the different what-ifs.
