Assassin’s Creed fans are hailing Revelations as one of the best games in the series, a surprise to be sure, but a welcome one.

Ubisoft’s flagship series isn’t short of incredible games. Many still hold the Ezio trilogy in the highest regard, as well as Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag. Some even praise games from the slightly more controversial RPG trilogy, which completely changed the Assassin’s Creed formula for debatable results.

In a somewhat surprising turn of events though, someone of the Assassin’s Creed subreddit has made it known that their all-time favourite game in the series is Assassin’s Creed Revelations, and many are agreeing with them.

Diehumancultleader made a post explaining how they believed the game to be the peak of the series, saying “it essentially built upon Brotherhood in every single way, and gave us what I consider to be the best story/atmosphere in the whole series.”

They went on to say: “Revelations is not underrated, it gets a fair shake, but I personally consider it the best in all respects. Walking through the gorgeous dense streets of Constantinople as old Ezio as the Ottomans conquer the last of the Roman Empire and the people live on around such a massive event in fascinating audiovisual detail will never get old to me.”

Surprisingly, a lot of fans agreed with them, sharing their own experiences with the game and praising its story, some of whom even called it a masterpiece.

“I used to DREAD the janissaries. Amazing game, and my second favorite, tied with AC2, with my favorite being ACB.”

“I thought it was an amazing game, with a great setting and a fantastic story and atmosphere.”

“A masterpiece of a game, Literally was my first AC game, just recently bought it on steam and 100% it. The ending was magnificent, Goosebumps to see the end to two of the greatest assassins.

The next Assassin’s Creed game fans will be looking forward to is Assassin’s Creed Mirage, which launches next month on 5 October.
