Who'd have thunk that a game from two years ago would be the hottest thing in 2021? A Plague Tale: Innocence is free to download on PC til next week and this is how you claim this awesome game.

A Plague Tale: Innocence knocked the socks off PlayStation 5 users in July as it was one of the free games through PlayStation Plus. Set in medieval southwestern France, Amicia and her little brother Hugo de Rune are of noble birth. Hugo suffers with ill health and their mother keeps him indoors to look after him and figure out a cure. However, French Inquisition soldiers shatter their peaceful life and the children flee the chaos, discovering that the Black Death is being spread by hordes of rats that feast on the flesh of unsuspecting villagers.

Combining nerve-shredding stealth with abject horror viewed through the eyes of the most vulnerable, A Plague Tale: Innocence is simultaneously horrific and mesmerising. The beauty of these environments is ravaged by war and disease and developer Asobo Studio has impressed players with its command of these two contrasting halves of the same game.

Take a look at the trailer for the stunning sequel, A Plague Tale: Requiem, below:

So, if you've got an account with the Epic Games Store, log in and you'll be able to see both A Plague Tale: Innocence and Minit on the front page. All you need to do to claim them is click that big blue "get" button and Robere est votre oncle. Minit is another good game to grab too. This cartoony monochrome adventure gives the player just sixty seconds to explore and uncover secrets before the day ends. The premise might be a little weird, and truth be told, I wasn't 100% sold on it until I played it myself.

There's certainly nothing else like it, and I recommend Minit to gamers who strive after a challenge and relish curious and peculiar storytelling. Now, this offer to get A Plague Tale: Innocence and Minit for free on the Epic Games Store expires on August 12th. So, pencil in a reminder, or haul yourself over to the website, quick march. Because you won't want these games to pass you by.
