PAYDAY 3’s stunning teaser trailer has finally arrived and it’s getting fans excited to see the return of the popular co-op shooter.

Developed by Overkill Software, the PAYDAY series made its debut in 2011 for PC and PlayStation 3. While earning modest scores on Metacritic of 76 and 70 for PC and PS3 respectively, it helped set the foundations for years to come. PAYDAY 2 would then arrive two years later, with a similar critical reception, but offering a lot more content.

In a way, some could argue that the PAYDAY series helped inspire the likes of the Heist mode in GTA Online, as well as the recently released, Crime Boss: Rockay City.

It’s fair to say that fans have been waiting a while for a new PAYDAY, in fact, as indicated above, it’s been ten long years. First revealed in January 2023, fans' excitement began to build in an announcement dubbed “the year of PAYDAY 3.”

What’s more, with the arrival of the new teaser trailer this week, it means that the full reveal is just around the corner. However, that is not all, because the description of the YouTube trailer confirms that a gameplay reveal is on the way this coming summer.

“PAYDAY 3 is the much-anticipated sequel to one of the most popular co-op shooters ever. Since its release, PAYDAY players have been revelling in the thrill of a perfectly planned and executed heist. That’s what makes PAYDAY a high-octane, co-op FPS experience without equal,” the game’s synopsis on Steam reads.

“Step out of retirement back into the life of crime in the shoes of the Payday Gang, the envy of their peers and the nightmare of law enforcement wherever they go. Several years after the crew’s reign of terror over Washington DC has ended, they assemble once again to deal with the threat that roused them out of early retirement.”

At the time of writing, there is no PAYDAY 3 release date, but do know that it will arrive this year for PC, PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch.
