No Resident Evil Requiem Collector’s Edition, Donald Trump May Be to Blame

Leon and Grace statues are very expensive!

Fans are wondering why there is no Resident Evil Requiem Collector’s Edition, and the blame may be pointed towards the US President, Donald Trump or Capcom.

We’re just a month or so away from the launch of Resident Evil Requiem, and following the most recent gameplay showcase, fans' excitement continues to build.

For the first time in the mainline series, we’re going back to Raccoon City, the iconic location of Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3. However, those who have completed either one of those games will know that Raccoon City is a nuclear ruin.

Leon S. Kennedy returns alongside a new playable character of Capcom’s Resident Evil series, young FBI agent Grace Ashcroft. Grace is no relation to the Ashcrofts of Resident Evil Code: Veronica, but she is the daughter of the news reporter, Alyssa, from Resident Evil Outbreak.

Where Is the Resident Evil Requiem Collector’s Edition?

During one of the more recent Resident Evil showcase events, a Resident Evil Requiem Deluxe Edition was announced, which comes with bonus DLC and a snazzy steelbook case. But there was no physical Collector’s Edition announced.

This was especially odd, considering that every game since 2018’s Resident Evil 2 remake had a Collector’s Edition with a statue and other items. Fans were hoping that we’d get a delayed announcement from Capcom, but that’s proven not to be the case, and now we may know why.

“The likely reason this title didn’t get a proper CE is related to prices,” Reddit user JeremyPryer began to explain.

“Everything has gone up in price since the last CE (which was already $50 more than the previous), and now there are tariffs imposed on imports that would have forced these big, bulky CE boxes to be raised even further up in price and would have been a bad look for the title and publisher.

“They side-step the whole issue and give us a better option regarding collectable statues by pulling that out and making it a standalone item.”

Resident Evil Requiem Leon and Grace Statues Are Expensive!

I think this Reddit user raises a good point. I wouldn't be surprised if a reason why Capcom never produced a Collector’s Edition for Resident Evil Requiem could be due to the increased tax prices on imported goods coming into the United States.

However, just because something is too expensive to bring into the United States, shouldn't mean that other regions across the world should miss out. I guess unless Capcom address this issue directly, we can only speculate.

That being said, at the most recent Resident Evil showcase, two plastic PVC statues were announced for Leon S. Kennedy (his third statue at this point) and another for Grace Ashcroft.

These statues looked exactly what you’d expect to see in a Resident Evil Requiem Collector’s Edition, apart from both are being sold separately, and there are major issues with that.

For starters, the base of each statue is halved. The reason being, is that both would connect into a single statue. Which in itself is fine. However, when Leon S. Kennedy and Grace Ashcroft statues are being sold for £300 each in the UK, the problems begin to snowball.

Sure, you could just buy one statue, but at £300 each, I cannot see the value in that, whatsoever. This is coming from someone who owns 1000s of Resident Evil memorabilia, including all the statues from the Collector’s Editions from 2018.

I Love Collecting Resident Evil Goodies!

I have a completionist mentality, like many. If I bought just one of these statues, it would drive me round the bend that it looked half complete, not to mention very odd looking on my shelf.

So to get both, we’re talking £600! Bearing in mind that the Collector’s Editions for Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil 3, Resident Evil Village and Resident Evil 4 cost between £200 and £250. Furthermore, these come not only with a statue with a complete stand, but also the game, sometimes a steelbook, bonus DLC and loads of other physical items.

Before orders went live in the UK today, retailer Just Geek announced that it is stocking them. Rumours were already floating around that these two statues might be very expensive, and when responding to a fan comment, they were informed that their prices would be more affordable. The post with that comment on Facebook on 22 January 2026 has been deleted.

When those prices were revealed by Just Geek, when fans started questioning the prices on Facebook and Twitter, those posts were swiftly taken down, because there were a lot of unhappy folk. The two statues remain on the website for £300 each.

Now, I’m not blaming Just Geek, as these statues were already rumoured to be expensive, so the issue of the price could stem back to Capcom. I can only speculate. I have reached out to Just Geek to find some clarification on the prices of the two statues.

Resident Evil Requiem will be released on 27 February 2026 on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and Nintendo Switch 2.
