Netlix's new tier is missing most of its biggest shows

It is actively working to address these omissions.

With Netflix's latest subscription tier, users will find that a handful of its biggest shows are not available to stream if you opt for the "Basic with ads" choice.

The "Basic with ads" tier will cost £4.99/$6.99 on a monthly rolling subscription, which is £2/$3 less than the current "Basic" option, and will come with about five minutes of adverts per hour of streaming. Yet, it will be without some of the standard features that Netflix users are accustomed to.

Check out the trailer for The Midnight Club, the horror show that holds the world record for the highest number of jumpscares, here!

Subscribers will not be able to access Arrested Development, House of Cards, Peaky Blinders, New Girl, The Magicians, The Last Kingdom, The Sinner, Good Girls, The Good Place and Friday Night Lights, according to Variety. Pour one out for all of the girlies who found out House of the Dragon's Ewan Mitchell played a monk in The Last Kingdom and now can't skip to his episodes on the streaming service. Where will they get their scene packs now, Netflix? Did you think about the common good at all?

And, those on "Basic with ads" will lose out on films like 28 Days, Skyfall, The Imitation Game and The Bad Guys. The reason for this is not spiteful glee, as some might suggest, it's actually to do with the rights that Netflix has to certain shows and films and this will depend on the territory you're in, too. A “limited number of movies and TV shows won’t be available due to licensing restrictions, and we’re going to be working on reducing that over time,” explained Greg Peters, the company's chief operating officer, in a statement.
