Moon Knight has just drawn to the end of its first - and potentially only - season. Unlike the imminent Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness which is rumoured to be cameo crazy, Moon Knight has kept itself fairly detached from the wider Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Personally, I’m all for it. I love a good cameo and the whole interconnectivity of the MCU, but that doesn’t mean that we can’t have something which breaks the norm from time to time. Its proved popular with Marvel fans yet despite the endless praise for Moon Knight, Steven Grant himself, Oscar Isaac, is now diving into why a second season isn’t on the cards.

According to Isaac, season one was approached as a complete limited-event story. Previously, Marvel did refer to this week’s finale episode as a “series finale” in a now-deleted tweet before changing this to “season finale,” throwing the future of the series up for debate.
“You know, I think we approached it as 'this is the story,’ and let's just put everything out on the table on this story,” Isaac said, speaking to RadioTimes.
“There's definitely no official plans to continue it. I think it would depend on what the story is [...] That being said, I love being Steven, I just love it. It's just like, physically, it's so much fun to be him. So, you know, if there was a story that really made sense, I'd be happy to be part of it,” he later added.
According to RadioTimes, Isaac was only contracted to appear in one season but knowing what we know as MCU fans, it’s unlikely that we’ve seen the last of Moon Knight. After all, the show is part of the MCU’s Phase Four line-up.
May Calamaway, who portrays Layla El-Faouly, shared Isaac’s uncertainty stating, “I've not heard anything so if there [are plans], I'm yet to hear. If there were, I would, yeah, I'd consider returning. Of course.” Whilst we’re fairly certain Moon Knight will show up again, it remains to be seen where or how this might happen.
