Minecraft players are finally getting that graphics update they’ve been waiting for, and they won’t have to wait long to get it either.
Now Minecraft isn’t a bad looking game by any means but unless you’re playing on PC you can’t get the most out of it when it comes to visuals. While the blocks themselves can’t look exceptional given the artstyle the lighting can play a big part in the game’s overall aesthetic, yet it’s been lacking for quite some time.
Vibrant Visuals aims to fix that problem by giving players a refresh to their game, and it’s out sooner than you’d think.

You can check out some of the changes on the official Minecraft blog but I’d recommend checking out the YouTube video instead, which features plenty of before-and-after shots with the new lighting included.
The sunsets, torches, even the water all look drastically different and improved, so it’s an update you’ll want to play with when you next boot up the game.
For those that want a more classic feel to their game though, you don’t need to play with the new lighting effects, you can simply switch them off in the settings so if you have your own suite of mods that improve the visuals for you, feel free to keep using them.
As for a release date, Bedrock players will get to experience the new lighting tomorrow, 17 June, but those on the Java edition will have to wait just a bit longer until their version of the game is updated.

It’s been a long time coming, and it’s a shame many players will have to wait a tiny bit more but at least we know it’s on the way.
Should be an interesting addition to your next Minecraft phase, we all go back to the game eventually…
