We all have our own fan castings right? The ideal people to play our favourite roles in adaptations we’re already invested in. And as the Marvel Cinematic Universe grows and grows, including more and more heroes, there are a lot of fans calling for Keanu Reeves to play the one and only Ghost Rider.
As reported by Comicbook, it was only recently in an interview with Esquire that the actor said that it would be a pleasure to be part of the MCU. Though he didn’t specify that he was interested in Ghost Rider, he certainly was positive about the opportunity to act alongside some of Hollywood’s biggest names in the universe. Reeves says: “It would be an honor. There's some really amazing directors and visionaries, and they're doing something that no one's really ever done. It's special in that sense, in terms of the scale, the ambition, the production. So it would be cool to be a part of that.”
Reeves is at least preparing for the release of The Matrix Resurrections...
Of course, after saying something so positive about the MCU, fans are already theorising which role Keanu would play. Most of them want him to play the terrifying Ghost Rider and we can absolutely back it. Lots of fans have taken to posting their support for Reeves as Blaze on Twitter. MizuriAU on Twitter says: “Would love to see Keanu Reeves join the MCU one day!”
It certainly helps that Reeves has a history of liking motorcycles too. The actor actually has his own brand of bikes that he works on - ARCH. They’re gorgeous beasts, and of course, that makes him a bit of a motorbike expert already, fitting right into Ghost Rider’s leather boots.
He’ll have a little competition though. There is one other big Hollywood name already eyeing up the role of Ghost Rider - The Walking Dead’s Norman Reedus. He’s actually quite recently reignited conversations about playing Johnny Blaze in his own interviews.
