Mass Effect publisher, Electronic Arts, suddenly delists a popular game 12 years after it had originally launched with no warning whatsoever.
Despite what we may or may not think of Electronic Arts, the publisher has treated us to some of our favourite gaming memories over the years, no doubt. Not only with the likes of Mass Effect but also Dead Space (not DS3) and Battlefield, to name a few.
However, like many publishers, EA has had its fair share of stinkers, more recently, 2024’s Dragon Age: The Veilguard, as well as a plethora of games that we forgot ever existed.
It’s Time to Say Goodbye to This Long-Running Racer
As brought to our attention by Comicbook.com, the mobile racer, Real Racing 3, developed by Firemonkeys Studios, which was released in 2013, is coming to an emergency stop.
Sadly, to those who still play Real Racing 3, the decision has been made to kill the servers on 19 March 2026, and it has been removed from the mobile Android and iOS stores.
Advert
Real Racing 3 will be playable until that deadline, but afterwards, it will no longer be accessible, even if the game remains downloaded on your device. You will be able to spend whatever in-game currency you have remaining; however, all in-app purchases have been disabled.
“The last twelve years have been a remarkable journey with all of you on Real Racing 3. Unfortunately, we've decided to retire from the race now,” read a statement shared on X.
“We’ve made the difficult decision to sunset Real Racing 3. The game will be delisted from the App Store and Google Play on December 18, 2025, and will remain playable until March 19, 2026.
“As a token of appreciation, the in-game announcement today will be followed by a grant of 1000 Gold, an Audi S1 e-tron quattro, and a 2023 Rimac Nevera to all our players.”

Fans of Real Racing 3 Have Reacted
“I find it astonishing to think that a game of such high quality, not pay-to-win but with generous rewards for players who choose to spend money, and that has been on the market for so many years, could suddenly stop being profitable. What could have happened?” asked Paul_Tenorio.
“This is really sad to hear. I understand the servers are being shut down, but why not keep an offline version alive for single-player content? Real Racing 3 still has a loyal player base, so losing access completely feels hard to accept,” exclaimed lokesh_sparrow.
“I've been playing Real Racing 3 since the day it was released. Thank you for a truly amazing gaming experience,” wrote kou_sangtr.
So, if you’re a fan of Real Racing 3, whether you play it regularly or not in a while, it might be time to jump back in, before it’s too late.
