Mass Effect fans seriously hyped over gorgeous new trailer

This looks stunning!

A gorgeous new trailer has dropped and it’s one for fans of the Mass Effect series.

When BioWare released Mass Effect in 2007, it instantly became a classic in the sci-fi RPG genre - and the studio hasn't looked back ever since. Now fans are eagerly awaiting Mass Effect 5, whenever that game may arrive.

Check out the Exodus cinematic trailer below!

Mass Effect 5 (which isn't its official title) was announced during The Game Awards in 2020 but since that time, we’ve heard very little about the game. It’s probably safe to assume that four years later, Mass Effect 5 could end up being a new-gen title at this point.

So, what can we do to pass the time? We could of course replay the original Mass Effect trilogy, especially as there are multiple ways that your story could play out.

What’s more, we could also check out Mass Effect-inspired games such as Exodus from Archetype Entertainment starring Hollywood actor Matthew McConaughey. A new cinematic trailer has dropped for Exodus and you can see why fans are dubbing it as a Mass Effect spiritual successor.

“Having fled a dying Earth, humanity has found a new home in a hostile galaxy. Here, we are the underdogs, fighting our final battle for survival. You are the Traveler, humanity’s last hope,” reads the synopsis of Exodus.

In case you’re interested, if you opt-in to receive updates on Exodus via its official website by 7 December 2024, you can claim free “founders” DLC to be used in the game. That DLC includes the Aegis Space Suit, an Aegis Suit founders patch and a Traveller’s Star emblem inspired by Matthew McConaughey.

It’s hard to say at this point whether Exodus will reach the standards of the Mass Effect series, especially as it’s not set to be released until 2026. That being said, it will most likely arrive before Mass Effect 5 and at least from a cinematic story-telling perspective, it appears to be off to a good start.

We’ll keep you posted when we hear further information on the progress of Exodus, and of course, Mass Effect 5.
