Thor is dead, long live Thor. Well, the Thor many of us know and love, played by Chris Hemsworth in the MCU, is still alive and well, for now.
However, his comic book counterpart, Immortal Thor, is dead - despite his name. And this has Marvel fans shocked, but even more shocking is his killer.
I’d throw up a spoiler warning, but the headline of this article, has already given away that Immortal Thor dies, and even the actual comic book reveals this turn pretty quickly.

Perhaps the spoiler here is his killer, so if you don’t want to know who it is, navigate away from here. Begone!
The killer is his very own brother, Loki, which may not come as much of a surprise as the pair has been going at each other for decades.
This could spell trouble for his MCU version, especially as Hemsworth seems to be on a farewell tour for the character, and his fate might be sealed for Avengers: DOOMSDAY.
Perhaps Marvel is feeling out the audience a little here, with Al Ewing’s story taking a dark turn and killing off the Asgardian God.

This comic book run has been well received by fans, and while many saw the betrayal coming, they were still shocked to see Loki strike down Thor.
“I really love this run,” said Cautious_Desk_1012 on Reddit, in a spoiler filled discussion.
The thread then turns into theories and concerns over the future of Thor.
“Maybe if Thor comes back he will be able to get a red haired super saiyan like form,” comments one Redditor.

While another fan, perhaps more seriously, notes, “If it’s Loki killing Thor then we’re pretty sure it’s just another riddle or test then.”
There are still more issues of this run to go, so more will be revealed about the shocking turn of events.
