Spoilers for Spider-Man: No Way Home and Hawkeye follow. Read on at your own risk!

Fans of the Netflix Marvel shows have taken to the internet to express their concern, following a new rumour that certain beloved characters may be recast as part of their official transition to the MCU.

In 2018, Marvel's roster of gritty Netflix shows were brutally cancelled. Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist were all put on the ice as Disney started to draw up plans for its own streaming service.

At that time, we had no idea what the future held for these characters, with many fearing that they'd be completely rebooted and recast. Spider-Man: No Way Home and Hawkeye finally put these fears to bed, of course. Charlie Cox reprised his role as Matt Murdock in the latest Spidey flick, while Vincent D'Onofrio's terrifying Kingpin menaced Clint Barton and Kate Bishop on Disney Plus.

But while Netflix's Daredevil is now officially the MCU's Daredevil going forward, what's less clear is what Disney has in store for the other Netflix heroes. Twitter user and frequent leaker MyTimeToShineHello recently suggested that "some" TV actors will be recast for the MCU.

While this particular "insider" doesn't always get it right, the very idea that Jessica Jones star Krysten Ritter might not return led to some pretty well justified outrage.

"I absolutely love Jessica more than anything. And I loved those years playing her," Ritter told ComicBook.com of a potential return. "If there was ever an opportunity for her to pop up anywhere, I would be the first [to say yes]. I may or may not have the jacket ready to go in my closet. So, you never know, but if I ever had the opportunity to play her again, I would be so thrilled.

"I'm always down to do it again. It was an absolute dream. And I love her. I love that character. I love the way that she connected with so many people in a deep way and resonated with women and girls in an exciting way. I am just so proud that I got to play such an iconic character."

"If they recast Punisher, Jessica Jones, and Luke Cage ima be pissed," wrote one fan on Twitter. Another added that they'd cancel their Disney Plus subscription if Ritter was replaced by another actor.

Basically, Disney Plus needs to honour Netflix's incredible run of Marvel adventures by doing what they did with Daredevil and making sure the actors that helped make their shows so great have the chance to come back. They can go ahead and recast Iron Fist if they want though, that'd be fine.
